I really enjoyed this morning in class. Garage Band is a program that I've been introduced to numerous times, but I've always felt inadequate using it with my class. I had Camille come in to teach my kids this program last year, and they all LOVED it. Today's mini-lesson was extremely helpful in reminding the tools and tricks of this program.
The biggest takeaway from today is my enthusiasm for incorporating videos and podcasts into my curriculum next year. I have taken many notes to help me when I go about teaching my students. I would like for them to create a mini-presentation about an explorer near the beginning of the year. In years past, we did this with PowerPoint and parents were usually quite impressed. I see much more potential with iMovie and GarageBand in terms of my students really getting into their characters.
My final project is coming along. The biggest concern I have is that I'm nervous about copyright laws for pictures I plan to use. I don't take many pictures, so I know I will be having to pull pictures online for my video. However, my script is complete and I'm excited to get started on my storyboard using ComicLife.
