Service Learning Project
Service learning is a teaching method that integrates meaningful community service with curriculum-based instruction. It gives students the opportunity to learn and use knowledge in ways to make a difference in the world. Service learning projects may include donating items, establishing recycling programs, eliminating waste in schools, teaching computer skills, or writing friendly letters. The simple concept behind service learning can empower students and teach them that anything is possible.

The goal of our project was to get young 1st graders excited to read. The following brochure gives a brief outline of steps taken to complete the project.
