Tonight in class, we spent a considerable amount of time setting up our own Kid Blogs and playing around with the features. Blogs have always intrigued me, and I see a great use for them in the classroom, especially with my 5th graders.
With KidBlog, I enjoy the monitoring control features. My kids are very expressive and opinionated. They love to share ideas. With Reading Street, I like to let them Think-Pair-Share with , but it is hard to stay on track. All my students like to have spotlight attention and share stories. I think this blog will be a way for them to post their thoughts and stories on our theme. It will also teach them typing skills and how to appropriately respond in such a forum.
My PLN project went smoothly. I've learned a lot of tools, and I'm still eager to be introduced to new technology I can use in the classroom.
