Tonight we discussed the analysis function of the ADDIE model. I have a bachelors degree in advertising, and I spent much of my undergrad surveying populations and analyzing statistics. This is definitely my forte.
I love learning about my students' attitudes and interests, looking at assessment data, and trying to find a way to better reach my audience of students. It also helps me better pace instruction and teach to the level of my students. With that said, I do see the importance in analysis. However, I can also agree that it is time consuming.
I'd like to do my thematic unit on the events that led up to the American Revolution. This should be a fun unit. I've spent a lot of time and effort trying to teach and create hands on, interactive social studies activities this year. I'm not sure how to incorporate science in the American Revolution yet, but language arts and math should be cake.. maybe we'll make compasses as we discuss magnets. :)
